Nearly 1 in 11 female and approximately 1 in 14 male high school students report having experienced physical dating violence in the last year. In order to prevent violence from occurring in the first place, Health Partners invests in prevention strategies that promote healthy relationships among teens and young adults. Adolescents may also become involved in the sex trade/experience human trafficking as a means of survival in order to pay for food, shelter and care, etc. Health Partners equips adolescent health care providers with the tools and resources they need to counsel their young patients about healthy relationships and to assess for and respond to dating violence.
