Bridging Care and Safety: A Systems-Based Approach to Addressing IPV in Health Centers

Hosted by  the Hawai’i Primary Care Association (HPCA), Health Partners on IPV + Exploitation will be presenting a virtual training for Hawai’i health centers to strengthen their response to intimate partner violence and improve their clinical competency.  Presented by Dr. Kimberly Chang, this session will feature key topics, including  integrating IPV response into clinical workflows and moving beyond screening with the evidence-based CUES intervention.

CMEs/CEUs will be provided for this session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the health impacts of intimate partner violence (IPV) across physical, behavioral, and oral health, including connections to substance use and mental health.
  • Implement the CUES approach to provide confidential IPV education, support, and resources.
  • Utilize EHR tools to document IPV and meet UDS reporting requirements.
  • Strengthen interprofessional collaboration by integrating IPV response into clinical workflows and enhancing referral pathways.
